The Learning Trust

Our Trust exists to serve young people, to educate, enlighten and give them the expertise and confidence to succeed. We believe that by collaboration higher standards in all that we do will be achieved across the Trust. We currently have three academies educating around 2000 students in Chester and Cheshire. We have well established and talented staff and leadership determined to pursue excellence, to challenge existing norms and to be even more ambitious for the current and future academies and their students.

Lean Global Network

The Lean Global Network (LGN) is a community of lean thought leaders and practitioners with the goal of making things better by advancing lean thinking and practice throughout the world. Founded by Jim Womack and Dan Jones in 2007, LGN is currently comprised of 31 institutes and partners. Through co-learning action research partnerships with universities and leading companies and organisations across all sectors, and an online community of over 300,000, LGN members gather the best in Lean thinking and share it with the Lean community and beyond.

The Lean Enterprise Academy

The purpose of the Lean Enterprise Academy is to develop and disseminate knowledge of lean thinking and lean practice. We do this to help organisations and individuals understand and implement lean thinking. Established by Professor Dan Jones in 2002 we are the UK affiliate of the Lean Global Network. We work with organisations and individuals to help build capability, so people can do lean themselves.

Chester town hall

Location

Chester is arguably the richest city in Britain for archaeological and architectural treasures preserved to this day from the time of the Roman occupation. Originally the fortress site of the 20th legion it was charged with suppressing the uprising of the army led by the warrior queen, Boadicea, the town being known then (c. AD70) as Deva, and soon became a major trading port.

Today, Chester is a perfect combination of traditional and modern culture, and there is plenty to see and do throughout the year, both in the city and the surrounding area. It is one of Britain’s most famous heritage cities with a 2,000 year history, and attracts around 8.25 million visitors each year.
